Digital Files
We can support the most common file types for print or reproduction. Two basic file types to familiarize yourself with are Raster and Vector.
Raster Images:
-
- These images are usually a photograph or scanned art that can only be reproduced for print at a high resolution, 300dpi. Depending on the size of the image and the resolution, the file size can be very large.
Extension examples: eps, tif, png, gif, jpg
Vector Images:
-
- These files are made of outlines and are similiar to digital technical drawings. Vector art is the most preferred for logos, text and taglines. They will always print clean and crisp at any size. The files size is very small compared to raster images. When using this file format, convert all text to outlines before sending your files.
Extension examples: ai or eps
Resolution
Raster images need to be 300dpi [dots per inch] and sized ready for print. Be aware that Web configured graphics are usually 72dpi and are not print ready. more…
